Scott Harris, MD

Scott Harris, MD, one of the founders of the Community Free Clinic, has dedicated his time, talents and energy for over 12 years. Dr. Harris served as the Medical Director of the Clinic for 11 years.

“I am very proud to be a part of the Community Free Clinic, which has provided over a decade of service to people in need. It was started in 2004 by people within Morgan County who had an interest in serving the less fortunate. The clinic has touched many lives and truly makes our community a better place for all.”

Volunteers Needed:

  • Physicians and Nurse Practitioners to provide primary care

  • Dentists to provide exams, fillings and extractions
  • Medical students/ student interns to assist where needed while observing and learning
  • Dental Assistants/dental assisting students to assist with exams, extractions, and x-rays
  • Pharmacists to fill and distribute medications
  • Pharmacy Technicians to assist pharmacists
  • RN/LPN/nursing students to assist physicians and triage patients
  • Lab Technicians to collect samples; and deliver to DMH lab
  • Security Officers to provide waiting room and parking lot monitoring
  • Counselors (licensed Counselors or Clergy) to provide counseling services for patients
  • Hall Floaters to assist patients during visits and help where needed
  • Meal Providers to provide a meal for 20 volunteers on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
  • Clerical volunteers to provide reception and help with office work on a regular schedule
  • Maintenance to help with routine maintenance of the building
  • Patient Assistance to order medications for patients on a regular basis
  • Patient Education to conduct a variety of wellness and self-help classes for patients
  • Special Projects to help with special projects such as fundraisers, events, and mailings
  • Screeners to meet with potential patients to determine eligibility on a regular basis
